Investigo - Built on Experience with Jake Preece

What’s your career journey been so far, and what led you into recruitment?

I finished my A-levels at 18, started in recruitment at 19, and moved to London shortly after. I joined Investigo at 21. Initially, it was the earning potential that attracted me, but also the maturity of the business, its leadership, and the growth it had gone through.

What do you think has been key to your success in your career to date?

Listening and learning from the people around me. There are some very experienced, knowledgeable people here, so I’ve always tried to absorb as much as possible, ask questions, and understand how and why they do things.

Why did you choose to join Investigo / The IN Group over other agencies?

The maturity of the business stood out. The leadership, performance levels, and overall reputation were really impressive compared to other options in the market.

What feels genuinely different about working here compared to elsewhere?

The environment and the billing levels. It’s an adult culture where people are trusted to get on with their work, and the relationships the business has externally are strong, which makes a big difference.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining Investigo & The IN Group this year?

Make the most of what’s around you. You’ve got great tools, strong client relationships, and a solid platform to build from. Listen, learn, and think long term to really make the most of the opportunity.
